you never get the same power with a sc than a turbo, superchargers steal power to make power, cool fact... instant power, dont have to wait til you hit so many rpms to build the boost... other example... a civic for example.. at 7 psi with a turbo will make (example) 170whp at 7 psi, with a supercharger at 7 psi will make 145whp... pretty much it ateals power to make power. turbos are better if you want highway poer, or quarter miles, superchargers are better for tight road courses and autocross... superchargers are a lot more expensive than turbos, also a lot more expensive to fix. other fact is that superchargers last longer and are "safer" than turbos... other thing is that superchargers add like 30% more power than stock whp. so if you supercharge a civic which produces 130whp, you will probably put down about 170whp. with turbo, you would be around 200whp... now if you supercharge a 800whp pro-stock drag car you would probably get around 1200whp.. (all these numbers are samples, i didnt pick these of any website or anything) is just off me doing research. now if you see the world records or the bad ass drag cars and stuff you will notice that turbo is where the power is at. also, superchargers are tough to find but sometimes easier to install. turbos, pretty much any car can be turboed... i hope this helped a little bit.. im sure Russ will add to this
