Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/22 21:32 Glad you asked, can you see the "Garage Sale" link on the right Nav?

Here is the link to the Garage Sale section: http://tearstone.com/shop/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=189&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=23

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/23 07:37 We will be posting up more as we have it available. But we have at least 300 products online for the Eclipse/Galant/Stratus readily available through the other sections on the website. Is there anything your looking for in particular? Russ Sanderlin

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/23 11:08 nothin in particular. here soon if everything goes right with me getting another job, i plan on buying stage 1 or 2 cams for my car. i got an 03 eclipse v6. what horsepower gains do you think i would see off of just the cams. i know i have to get cam wheels too.

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/23 12:33 I wish I could tell you. Most poeple just jump right into forced induction and not really get into N/A modifications. I'm eager to see what cams do with a N/A Eclipse myself. All the people that have bought them from us have never reported back their results. Russ Sanderlin

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/26 11:05 well im trying to decide now whether to go n/a or turbo. im not sure what would be cheaper. if i go n/a i want to go with stage 1 or 2 cams. i know with just getting those cams, i'll probaly only reach 220 whp. but it would be about 2000 less than a turbo. its so hard to figure out though.

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/26 11:19 i was looking at your stage 1 cams, and it says it bolts straight up with no need of cam wheels, ecu modifications, or valve springs. Why wouldnt you need better valve springs because it is a higher lift than stock cams? Would it give it a little more power if i put better valve springs and cam wheels in it. If i decide to go n/a i plan on getting an SAFC for the headers and wouldnt that help get out more horsepower from the cams. What do you think would be the approximate horsepower increase from a stage 1, maybe 10whp.

Stage 1 cams are designed by RPW as a drop in cam. The idea behind strong springs is to insure that the valve closes when it is supposed to and not float between cam lobe cycles which can be detrimental to your engine. You can't go wrong with having stronger springs but it's unecessary for stage 1 cams. We are still wondering what cams will do to a N/A 3G as well since most customers typically buy turbo or supercharger cams. Good luck with your setup and we are eagerly awaiting to hear your results

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/26 23:17 I was wondering if you sold the 4G64 block fully built without the head? I'm doing the Evo head swap and a fully built block would help me. I'm sure you could sell a fully built 4G64 head to someone.

Sure, we will let the bottom end go as long as we have a buyer for the head at the same time. I believe there was some interest on the Galant Center for a head. If your serious about buying the bottom end I can help you find a buyer for the head.

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/27 13:07 I just need a number as to how much the block would cost. I imagine that the head is more expensive than the block, but I just need a number before I can let you know how serious of a buyer I am.

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/27 17:00 ok, well I am interested, but for now just keep it for sale as is, and when I actually have 3,400 to spare I'll get back in touch with you if it's still available. That's a little more expensive than I was expecting, but isn't too bad.

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/27 17:27 I'd buy the head if it was built with a stage 4 turbo camshaft and gear to match and springs lol

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/27 17:57 What all is done to the block and how much was the cost to do all of it?

Re:New Garage Sale Section - 2006/06/27 20:04 Basic 4G64 build is $2700 which buys you:

CP racing pistons
Federal Mogul boost rings
Clevite bearings
Fully balanced
Race prep block (Magnafluxed, Cleaned, Decked and Equalized,
Align-bored mains, New Freeze Plugs and Oil Galley Plugs)
ARP Rod bolts

Add $350 for shipping

Options:

$700 for Crower Rods

So, it's like your basically getting free shipping on the block.

Osiris, with a stage 4 cam, I would imagine that would mean that your car is no longer a daily driven car? The Stage 3 is the most aggresive streetable cam you can get, plus it comes with the AEM cam gear.

The garage sale contains items that are sitting around and ready to ship, so it is first come first serve.

Although it may not be listed on the website yet, we can do 4G64 performance blocks and race engine builds.

We've found in the past that the stock Eclipse ECU attempts to compensate for small modifications added to the 6G72 which means that what you would normally get as a HP increase in most cars is not realized near as much in the V6 Eclipse. This is why many Eclipse owners have chosen to go Turbo. Once it's all said and done, spending equal amounts of money to stay NA vs FI, the forced induction motor will produce MUCH more HP to the wheels. As far as the SAFC goes, it does seem to help lean out a very rich air to fuel ratio in this motor. This mod is definitely worth the money and useful in either the NA or FI application.
