Vinyl Decal Application Instructions
Small Graphic Decal Application Instructions
Small graphic decals use clear transfer tape and applied using what is known as the “dry method”. Do not use a soap water mix for applying these decals as it will just turn the transfer tape into a big gooey mess and not stick to the application surface properly.
-
Clean the surface using rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner to insure it is free of oils, waxes and dirt. Allow surface to dry.
- Surface temperatures should be approximately 50-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid direct sunlight but a warmer surface is desired.
- Remove the white backing paper and insure the vinyl completely transfers to the sticky transfer tape.
- Apply decal to the desired position. Once the decal sticks it cannot be removed without destroying the decal.
- Use a squeegee or credit card over the top of the transfer tape several times to insure all air bubbles are removed and the vinyl has made a good solid contact with the application surface.
- Remove the transfer tape slowly. Insure the vinyl is sticking to the desired surface, and if necessary slightly roll the transfer tape back and squeegee over the areas that did not make good contact.
- Once the transfer tape is removed, use the backing from earlier to place over top of the decal using the squeegee again to seal the deal.
Large Graphic Decal Application Instructions
Larger graphic decals use masking tape for transfer tape and optimally applied using what is known as the “wet method”. Do not use this method for clear transfer tape used with smaller decals.
- If your decal was shipped rolled, lay it out flat and let it relax for an hour or so.
- In a spray bottle, mix 1 teaspoon of liquid soap to 1 liter of water.
-

Surface temperatures should be approximately 50-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid direct sunlight but a warmer surface is desired.

Remove the white backing paper and insure the vinyl completely transfers to the sticky transfer tape.
-
Apply a liberal amount of mixture from your spray bottle onto the surface in which you are applying the decal and to the sticky side of the transfer tape containing your vinyl decal.
-
Apply the decal to the desired position. This method will allow for the decal to slide around afterwards for an optimal desired position.
-
Use a squeegee or credit card over the top of the transfer tape several times to insure all air bubbles are removed and the vinyl has made a good solid contact with the application surface.
-
Allow the application to dry for approximately 1 hour depending on the outside temperature, or speed up the drying process use a hair dryer and go lightly over top of the transfer tape.
-
Remove the transfer tape slowly. Insure the vinyl is sticking to the desired surface, and if necessary slightly roll the transfer tape back and squeegee over the areas that did not make good contact and this may require extra drying time.
-
Once the transfer tape is removed, use the backing from earlier to place over top of the decal using the squeegee again to seal the deal.
